The person behind the words.
Kyenna is a freelance copywriter and content strategist based in Boise, Idaho.
She works with small businesses and growing brands on web copy, email campaigns, and content strategy—the kind of work that makes the right people stop scrolling and actually pay attention.
Friends, enemies, and clients call her Ky.
I grew up in rural North Idaho, which means I had a lot of time to read, unlimited access to beautiful but isolating nature, a healthy skepticism of anything that felt performative, and approximately zero access to a straight career path.
I studied history at Boise State (yes, on purpose) because I have a fascination with history, especially ancient. Plus, I thought knowing how to research anything and write about it in a way that didn't put people to sleep would be useful. Turned out that's basically the job description for copywriting, so. Good call, past me.
After graduation, I spent years managing restaurants and wineries, practicing winemaking, and traveling across 15+ countries and four continents. Not exactly the traditional route into content strategy.
The Origin Story
Here's what that time actually gave me: I learned how to read a room. How to figure out what people want before they've said it. How to tell a story that lands differently depending on who's in front of you.
Then the pandemic hit. Restaurants closed. Town closed. The whole world closed.
Suddenly, I had too much time and a laptop. You can probably guess what happened next. (Though, I’d be surprised if you could guess the Harvardx certification in ancient Egyptian art and archaeology.)
I went full-time as a writer and never looked back. I've since written for brands across B2B, Tech, SaaS, wellness, travel, and finance. I've managed email campaigns for audiences of 30,000+ and ghostwritten 250+ blogs and articles. I've helped founders figure out why their homepage or course wasn't converting and what to actually do about it.
Turns out the history degree was useful after all. (Don't tell my skeptics.)
What this looks like in practice:
Email campaigns with open rates up to 82% and an average of 26% for a 25,000+ subscriber list
Web copy and content strategy for B2B, SaaS, wellness, and travel brands
Articles on Forbes, Inc, Accounting Today, CPA Practice Advisor, Ventive, and Zisla
Full website and course audits covering content, SEO, AEO, and accessibility
Strategy consulting for founders and marketing leads who'd rather have a clear plan than another content calendar

Small businesses, solopreneurs, and growing brands—mostly in B2B, SaaS, wellness, and finance.
But I LOVE research and learning new industries. If you have a product or service worth buying and copy that isn't doing it justice, we're probably a good fit.

If you know what you want to say but it's not coming out right—copywriter.
If you're not sure what to say, where to say it, or why nothing is working—strategist.
A lot of clients need both, which is why I do both.

Both. Some clients need one great landing page. Others want someone in their corner every month. Either works.
